unreleased song | acoustic show | french distro

Hello dear friends,

Our Japanese label, Fastcut Records, has just released a new compilation that includes an unreleased song of ours called “Had to Read.” We recorded it back in 2007 with the intention of releasing it on the vinyl version of the Shortest Day of the Year EP that never came to fruition. The compilation includes some of our label-mates like The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Surfer Blood, Korallreven (Radio Dept. side project) and lots of others, and it’s available for free if you buy 2 Fastcut releases at Tower Records / diskunion / Jetset / Flake Records / Vinyl Junkie / Art Rock No.1 / file-under / Violet And Claire. Perhaps we will post the song for streaming on our site in the near future for those of you who aren’t buying music in Japan. Would you like that?

It looks like we’re going to play an acoustic show as a duo in Chicago on July 24 when Craig starts his US tour. It will take place in the Dirtroom at the Double Door with our pals Very Truly Yours. It’s an early show, so make sure to get there by 7:30 if you want to see us! This is a link to the facebook event page in case you like using that kind of thing…

In other news, our records are now available from the French distro Hands & Arms. Charlie’s The Golden Rule EP is there as well as Craig’s new album.

I keep toying with the idea of putting up a few sale items in the shop along with some very old t-shirts that could be given away for free. Perhaps I will get my act together with that soon. Until then, have fun.
